Walls and Floors: The Autumn Edit 2024

As the leaves start to fall and the air begins to crisp, we turn our attention to creating cosy settings to enjoy our time at home.

Choosing the right colour palette is key to achieving this and here are 6 cosy palettes from some of our favourite paint brands, with complementary shades from our flooring portfolio, to create cosy schemes you will be more than happy to hibernate in for the coming months.

Moody Elegance

For those who love the richness and depth that autumn brings, a dark and moody interior might be your style. Gumption by Coat Paint offers a deep, sophisticated tone, while Mindful adds a layer of calm, creating a space that feels inviting yet luxurious.

NTP54 Naked Oak Parquet balances the darker tone of the walls with a light, natural oak finish, and subtle grain patterns creating a modern and timeless aesthetic in equal measure.

Farmhouse Calm

If you resonate with a more rustic and organic feel, the farmhouse aesthetic is a calming and cosy choice. Beige 02 Soho Farmhouse and Greige 02 Soho Warehouse by Lick are soft, neutral tones that evoke a sense of tranquillity synonymous with rural life.

NT49 Blonde Oak enhances this calming palette with its distressed wood tones. The knots and textures of this LVT flooring mimic real oak, adding to the rustic feel to the space.

The beauty of this aesthetic lies in the thoughtful layering of varied shades and textures, and the celebration of subtle imperfections.

Rich and Earthy

Orange is the ultimate autumnal hue embodying warmth and cosiness at its core. Pair together Orange 02  by Lick, a rich hue reminiscent of autumnal leaves, with Grey 02  to add a modern edge, grounding the palette with its neutral undertones.

To tie these shades together, NS65 Urban Concrete makes the perfect base. The concrete effect adds an element of simplicity to the boldness of the orange, creating a balanced and inviting atmosphere.

Soft and Cosy

For those who prefer a softer aesthetic, this taupe palette offers a combination of warmth and subtle elegance. Mellow Mocha and Soft Truffle by Dulux create a soothing environment that’s perfect for relaxation.

HER55 Regal Timber Herringbone flooring adds to this ambiance with its wood texture and alluring herringbone pattern.

The warm tones of the flooring harmonise beautifully with the taupe paint colours creating a cohesive look that feels calming and comfortable.

Sophisticated and Stylish

If you’re drawn to drama, this scheme offers a bold and luxurious aesthetic, Dodie by Coat brings a sense of richness to the scheme and Sweatpants by Coat works as a beautiful supporting neutral.

RT03 Brushed Walnut flooring adds character and tactile warmth to the space, making it feel inviting and cosy despite the darker palette.

This pairing is perfect for those looking for a sophisticated, cocoon-like environment for autumn. Picture it, a roaring fire on a chilly autumn evening; bliss.

Classic Comfort

For a timeless look that still feels like home, this classic yet cosy combination is perfect. Heathland by Dulux creates depth and tranquillity. whilst Morning Oats by Dulux can be used to soften the scheme.

These stunning tones are complemented by HER43 Carpenter’s Oak Herringbone flooring, which adds a natural element to the richness of the green.

The intricate pattern of the herringbone design, combined with the warm oak finish, creates a space that feels both sophisticated and comfortable.
