When it comes to modern organic styling there is no better inspiration than Rebecca Riley (@rebecca_riley_home). Organic textures and natural fibres are staples in her schemes, and 100% styled is her standard.
Last year, Rebecca completely transformed her living room with natural oak floating shelves, bespoke units and Pale Oak herringbone LVT flooring. She also added a statement fireplace, enhanced our geometric Luna LVT flooring. The look was extended into her hallway and landing too for a beautifully cohesive flow.
After the stunning results in these areas, Rebecca turned her attention to her snug, loft bedroom and master. Rebecca’s vision for these spaces was simply to make them feel warmer, more elevated and more cohesive with the rest of her home.
The snug had already been renovated a few years ago and featured beautiful architectural details, including exposed oak beams and a fireplace with an oversized oak mantel. Styled with natural materials such as linen, wood, porcelain and textured fabrics, the room only needed one final finishing touch; new flooring. Rebecca commented “I wanted to replace the tired grey carpet in place of a floor that would complement the features within the room, rather than fight against them”.
The master bedroom also received a fresh new look, with the flooring setting the tone for the space. A warmer colour palette, new window treatments, wall lighting, soft furnishings and artwork all came together to create a softer, more inviting space.
And for the loft bedroom, Rebecca commented “Our vision for this room was an open loft inspired space with an organic, minimalist feel”. with a panelled feature wall behind the bed, rich chocolate brown tones introduced throughout and new walnut furniture the space was given a full refresh.

The Iconic collection was a perfect fit for Rebecca’s style. Rebecca commented “I knew I wanted to use J2 Flooring again and instantly loved Abernethy”. With its light oak tones and subtle ashy undertones, Abernethy is an incredibly versatile design that complements Rebecca’s neutral palette beautifully. “What stood out to me straight away was how unbelievably natural the whole collection looked. I was so impressed by the realism of the designs. The variation between planks means it doesn’t have that repetitive look that some LVT flooring can have”.
Installed lengthways in a plank format, the flooring helps open up each room while creating a seamless sense of continuity across the upstairs of the home. “My favourite thing about the shade Abernethy is how much warmth it has brought to each space,” Rebecca explained. “I’ve had so many people comment on how much larger the spaces feel since the flooring was installed. The overall theme has been that it has completely elevated the rooms. It’s created a strong foundation that allows all the other design elements to shine”.
While aesthetics were important, practicality mattered just as much. With older children and dogs, Rebecca needed flooring that would stand up to everyday life. “It’s easy to keep clean, which is especially important in a busy household, and it still looks fantastic with very little maintenance”. Comfort was another priority, particularly in the bedrooms. “It’s warm and comfortable to walk on, and I also love how quiet it is underfoot. Unlike laminate flooring, it doesn’t have a hollow sound, which creates a softer, more relaxed feel throughout the spaces”.
Rebecca is thrilled with the finished result. Every room now feels brighter, more welcoming and more connected, perfectly reflecting her signature modern organic style. “The difference has been huge” She commented “My favourite thing is how much warmth the flooring has brought to each space – guests are constantly mistaking it for real wood, commenting how natural it looks”. There is no doubt that the spaces perfectly capture the warm, calm and effortless aesthetic Rebecca is known for.
