Modern Organic with Rebecca Riley

Home interior lover and content creator, Rebecca (@rebecca_riley_home) set out to give her family home a fresh new feel – something timeless, refined and beautifully aligned with her modern organic style. Her existing long-pile carpet had seen better days, flattened over time with the coming and going of her busy family, so she saw it as an opportunity to update the space with something that better worked with the calm and natural aesthetic she loved. She commented “The carpet had served its time, and I knew LVT flooring would help me achieve the classic look I’d been dreaming of.”

What followed was a complete transformation designed to reshape the living room and give it more presence and depth. Rebecca began by building a chimney breast, adding bespoke built-in shelving, however the biggest change came from the flooring. Pale Oak Herringbone LVT flooring was installed throughout the living room, hallway and landings establishing a seamless flow that instantly elevated the space. “Before, it felt quite dated and a bit flat, but now with the new LVT, everywhere feels much more balanced, inviting and a better reflection of our style.”

Wanting to add subtle definition and visual interest, Rebecca introduced Luna geometric LVT flooring tiles in beige and cream to zone around the fireplace and create a beautiful feature in the hallway. “I’ve always been drawn to geometric tiles, but I’m also a neutrals girl, so beige and cream was an instant win”. The soft organic tones of pale oak paired effortlessly with the modern geometric pattern for a soft and natural scheme with a modern edge.

When the flooring was fitted the transformation was immediate. Rebecca commented “I was honestly blown away! Pale Oak Herringbone was the perfect shade, with a beautifully realistic wood finish that adds warmth and texture”. The home felt brighter, cleaner and more cohesive, each room was pulled together with a sense of calm and continuity. “Twelve months on, we still love it exactly the same”

Day to day life has also been made easier. “With adult children coming and going and three dogs, including a new puppy, LVT flooring felt like the most practical choice” being in high traffic areas the maintenance and durability benefits really stood out “it really takes the pressure off – any little accidents or spills clean up with no issue. It’s comfortable underfoot, and maintenance is honestly minimal”. So pleased with the results in her hallway and living room, Rebecca later chose to extend the flooring across her landings too “We loved the look and durability so much, it just made sense. We were already replacing the stair carpets with runners, and I knew the landings would look amazing.”

For Rebecca, the details are essential in bringing a home to life. The fireplace brings a sense of rustic comfort while the neutral and organic styling across the shelving bring depth and texture. The herringbone pattern “my all-time favourite” she commented, adds timeless character but her favourite feature was the addition of the Luna tiles. “Adding Luna in Beige and Cream in the hallway and inside the fireplace was honestly the best decision we made”, Drawing the eye, introducing clean lines and adding a modern twist to the space for the perfect blend of modern and natural.

The feedback from Rebecca’s audience has been incredible. “People love how the two designs work together and can’t believe how realistic the wood grain looks in the Pale Oak”. Rebecca’s advice for anyone embarking on a similar renovation? “Choose LVT every single time. It gives you the look of real wood or tile without the stress. It’s stylish, practical, long-lasting and perfect for busy homes, pets and high-traffic areas.”
